Please Participate... Please Spread the Word... Please Reblog!

I have said it before, I want to be more than a consuming force in this world. I have no desire to sit around typing my opinion about the world and ways we could fix it, without actually getting out from infront of my computer and taking action.

There are so many problems in this world, so much pain and heart ache. There are so many things that we could make better, by simply taking a moment to stop looking at our own lives and problems,  and start looking at how we can help others with theirs.

A man once told me, “One snowflake is a pretty insignificant thing, not much to it. But, if you get enough snowflakes together… Schools closed.”

If you get enough like minded people together, focused on one goal, and with a willingness to act, you can change the world.

I believe that, and if you’re reading this, maybe you do too.

So, let’s prove it… let’s take on something together, and let’s change the world.

How about… WORLD HUNGER?

Obviously, world hunger is not something that can be solved overnight, but it can be solved over time.

Here’s my idea…

“Withoutlove Brown Bag Campaign”

Here’s how it will work…

1) Go to the grocery store, pick up a brown paper bag, and fill it with non-perishable foods. (Canned vegetables, canned fruit, rice, pasta, peanut butter in plastic jars, canned fruit juice, dried ceral, oatmeal, cookies, crackers, ect.)

2) Take a picture of what you collected and post it to your blog.

3) Email withoutloveblog [at] gmail.com /  or twitter @withoutlove The link to your picture and how many cans you collected and I will reblog your picture. (so that we can keep a running tab, and keep everyone updated)

4) Deliver the food to the reputable food bank of your choice. (Just google food banks near you)

5) Encourage your friends to do the same.

6) go to the withoutlove twitter page or follow this blog to stay updated with how many cans of food get collected. (http://twitter.com/withoutlove)

What do you think?

What if we were able to collect 1000 cans of food? What about 10,000 or 100,000?

What kind of difference would that make in someones world?

This could change lives.

Update: (1/14/09) If you haven’t seen it yet please check out the Withoutlove Brown Bag Campaign: Valentine Day 1000. The newst goal of the Brown Bag Campaign. Let’s see if we can get 1000 pictures (bags) by Valentines day.

Update: (1/11/09) To all of you who want to participate or just want to help spread the word, I think I am going to add a launch date ( next week or tomorrow?) do if you want to follow withoutlove or via @withoutlove I will announce the start time.
